Oracle Database: Administration Workshop provides students with a firm foundation in day-to-day database administration. Participants will explore the internal architecture of an Oracle database instance, learning how background processes interact with memory structures like the System Global Area (SGA) and Program Global Area (PGA) to manage data efficiently.
The course guides students through the step-by-step process of preparing the operating system, installing the Oracle database software, and creating operational database containers.
Beyond setup, students will gain practical skills in managing physical storage structures such as datafiles, control files, and online redo logs and configuring network components like listeners to allow secure client connections. Security management is heavily emphasized; the curriculum teaches students how to create user accounts, assign data space quotas, configure passwords, and manage administrative privileges and roles.
By the conclusion of this workshop, students will have the practical engineering experience necessary to maintain database operational health, monitor system performance, and safeguard corporate data access layers.
